Un artista contemporaneo neo-figurativo e post-impressionista

Silvano Crespi intuisce una passione per il disegno e le arti figurative, cimentandosi prima con china, tempera e acquerello, poi dal 1974, in maniera continuativa ed evolutiva, trova la sua dimensione nella pittura ad olio. I riconoscimenti del pubblico e della critica giungono nel 1980 quando il Crespi inizia a partecipare alla vita artistica nazionale, prendendo parte a mostre, rassegne, concorsi e personali, cominciando dal Circolo dei Giornalisti e dall’Associazione Iterarte di Bologna, alla Galleria del Centro Storico di Firenze, dal Concorso Nazionale del miniquadro a Parma, al Circolo Amici Fontanelle di Reggio Emilia, da La Telaccia di Torino, alla Galleria Petrofil di Milano, proseguendo con collettive a Venezia e all’ Expo Art a Verona, dalla Galleria Crispi di Roma, alla Galleria Alba di Ferrara, oltre a confrontarsi in esposizioni collettive a New York e in Svizzera.
Dopo la laurea in Scienze Politiche, conseguita a Bologna nel 1978, lo studio dei grandi artisti del passato e la sua passione per la pittura l’hanno indirizzato verso una interpretazione entusiastica del paesaggio, verso una ricerca tutta improntata alla variazione della luce e dei colori, a volte resa con una pennellata densa e corposa a volte espressa con una tavolozza chiara e trasparente. Il suo interesse è rivolto al ‘700 e all’ ‘800 europeo, in particolare è attratto dal romanticismo tedesco di Friedrich, dall’innovazione inglese della moderna pittura del paesaggio di Constable e dal movimento impressionista francese: dal precursore Corot e dai maestri del calibro di Monet, Pissarro e Sisley, tutti artisti innamorati della chiara luce mediterranea.
Punti di riferimento sono stati anche la scuola piemontese di Rivara, e la scuola di Resina fino ad arrivare alla sintesi chiaroscurale dei macchiaioli toscani, ad artisti come Banti, Signorini, Lega, Costa, Sernesi, De Nittis e infine Boldini, noto per i suoi celeberrimi ritratti, ma anche per la luce vibrante che sapeva infondere nei suoi stupendi paesaggi.
Silvano Crespi appartiene all’area neo-figurativa, pervasa com’è da una miscela di neo-romanticismo immersa in un ideale maniera post-impressionista. La sua pittura richiama uno stato d’animo, una percezione più che una semplice veduta prospettica. Dipinge sensazioni, momenti e luoghi dove è stato e dove vorrebbe essere, con lo sguardo rivolto all’ 800 pittorico ma con gli interrogativi e le problematiche del suo tempo. Il Crespi crea luoghi immaginari o rimembrati dove si è trovato bene e in pace con sé stesso, anche con l’intento di riprovare quella emozione e di fissare nel tempo quel magico momento, quella determinata percezione. In sintesi osserva, analizza, scompone, elabora, e infine traduce sulla tela quello che il suo sguardo ha attentamente indagato: una situazione e un’impressione unite idealmente e razionalmente.
